Hot Melt Granulator

Manufacturers of FEP, PVC- and PE-insulated & jacketed wire and cable have successfully blended up to 50% recovered material with virgin pellets with no loss of physical or dielectric properties by immediately granulating hot material at the processing station.

No Sticking or Clogging: HMG® Hot Melt Granulators feature a modified Shurfeed® cutting chamber specially designed for recovery of hot plastics up to 600° F without pre-cooling. Hot extrudate falls directly in front of the rotating knives and is passed through the cutting action immediately. The evacuation blower provides high volume air flow through the open rotor and expanded chamber area to cool material quickly. Close, uniform rotor-to-screen clearance and the scissors-cut blade configuration produce fast, positive throughput without material build-up in the chamber.

For certain applications our Hot melt granulators provide an inline, low cost solution to plastics recycling. Much simpler than an expensive large pelletizing system, our Hot Melt Granulator is ideal for recycling of hot plastic such as FEP, PE and PVC used in the wire and cable manufacture. With a water cooled chamber and rotor and using high volumes of air our Hot Melt Granulator can recycle plastic up to 600º F. The granulator is low profile and can fit under extruder and accept extrudate of PVC, PE or FEP directly from the die.

Our hot melt granulators can process materials that are hundreds of degrees and molten. By water and air cooling we can take this extricate from an extruder die and process it into smaller useable regrind.
